Provide practical guidance and robust oversight for M&G's business units.

What is the Compliance graduate scheme?

You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks enabling you to develop strong knowledge of the asset management business and the regulatory environment in which we operate. You’ll benefit from participating in work where you can make a genuine contribution to the team with an opportunity to convey your own views and ideas.

What to expect

The nature of the work will vary depending on the team you’re placed in, but you can expect to get experience in the following areas:

  • Advisory: Providing an advisory service to all areas of M&G in relation to the design and effectiveness of regulatory processes, policies, controls, products, services and outcomes for customers
  • Document review: Ensuring marketing materials are fair, clear and not misleading to comply with regulatory standards, and participating in the creation and maintenance of legally required product documents
  • Strategy and regulatory development: Ensuring the compliance department has an effective strategy, and advising on how current and proposed business activities will be affected by changes in the regulatory and legislative landscape
  • Monitoring: Undertaking risk-based oversight and assurance activities, through thematic and regular inspection activities and testing, to ensure M&G is conducting its affairs in compliance with relevant financial services rules and regulations
  • Policy work: Maintaining our policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current regulation as well as providing oversight and monitoring adherence to policy requirements
  • Financial crime compliance: Assisting in the operation of key financial crime controls across all M&G’s asset management activities including due diligence and transaction monitoring, anti-bribery and corruption controls, and investigations of fraud and other financial crimes
  • Producing management information: Delivering insight on new and emerging areas of risk through clear, accurate and timely reporting and analysis

What we offer

Throughout the scheme you’re given comprehensive training and a vast support network; this includes a five-week asset-management introductory programme and a buddy from a previous cohort.

All graduates obtain the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) during the induction and can then begin supported study towards a further relevant professional qualification.

You’ll receive regular feedback through appraisals and a psychometric review, allowing you to continue developing throughout the programme. Graduates are also able to make the most of the in-house training opportunities available.

Once off the scheme your development will continue to be supported through the Learning & Talent Development team.
