Develop your understanding of our varied products, investment strategies and teams.

What is the Investment graduate scheme?

The scheme lasts between 12 and 18 months, involving a series of 10-week rotations in our investment teams. You’ll experience between 5 and 7 rotations where you’ll develop an understanding of our varied products, investment strategies and teams. Towards the end of the scheme we’ll work with you to find a permanent role and team that suits your strengths and interests.

Where you’ll be working

You’ll rotate through the following business areas plus one rotation of your choice:

  • Fixed Income: Our Fixed Income business manages assets on behalf of internal and institutional clients
  • Equities: Our Equities business manages assets on behalf of internal and retail clients
  • Macro Investment business (Multi-Asset): The Multi-Asset team is responsible for managing six retail funds, as well as a Cayman-based hedge fund and segregated accounts
  • Prudential Portfolio Management Group (PPMG): PPMG is responsible for management and oversight of our parent company, Prudential’s assets
  • Prudential Capital (PruCap): PruCap manages Prudential Group’s balance sheet for profit by providing treasury services to the Prudential

What we offer

Throughout the scheme you’re given comprehensive training and a vast support network; this includes a five-week asset-management introductory programme and a buddy from a previous cohort.

All graduates obtain the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) during the induction and will then begin supported study towards a further professional qualification, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. All graduates on the investment scheme will have training on Excel modelling and on how to conduct credit analysis.

You’ll receive regular feedback through rotation appraisals and a psychometric review, allowing you to continue developing throughout the programme. Graduates are also able to make the most of our in-house training opportunities.

Once off the scheme your development will continue to be supported through the Learning & Talent Development team.

The rotations within the Investment Graduate scheme provided me with a great opportunity to gain in-depth exposure to the specifics of different teams and departments at M&G Investments. Additionally, M&G’s dedication towards expansion of the Women in Investment Management network, gender diversity and healthy work-life balance created an enabling work environment to grow professionally and build a network of contacts from the very earliest stages of my career.
