Making a difference

It isn’t just the investments we make on behalf of our customers which could help change people’s lives.

We also aim to make a lasting difference to the prosperity and well-being of communities.  So far this year, we have donated £700,000 to 170 different charities and social projects, focused on improving the opportunities for people of all ages to live better.   These include helping deliver financial education programmes to schoolchildren; supporting better mental health in the workplace and in schools; and helping support people without homes, through our work with LandAid, Crisis and the smaller charities such as 999 Club and St Mungo’s.

M&G fund raising

Doctor looks after small girlWe're keen participants in CASCAID, which is bringing investment managers across the City of London to raise £2 million for Cancer Research UK in 2017.  We also support other charities in Europe like Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, which received funding to enable life-saving surgery to help children like Hibo.

For example, this summer we supported John, Gav and Mal, who took part in the official RAID Alpine road cycling challenge to raise funds for the Stroke Association – 469 miles and climbs of over 63,000ft in 6 days, an amazing achievement.
