New mallowstreet and M&G Private Debt report reveals UK pensions industry views – UK

Summary: We take a closer look at some of the key findings that emerged from our recent research project in partnership with mallowstreet Insights focused on private debt.

Demand for private debt among pension schemes continues to grow substantially. At the same time, the reasons for investing vary considerably, due to the diverse nature of outcomes sought by schemes and the heterogeneity of the investment universe itself. To gain deeper insight into schemes’ current views on private debt, M&G recently collaborated with the research and insights arm of mallowstreet – an online community within the UK pensions industry – to survey and interview 100 leading industry professionals. Here, we discuss some of the key findings with Jo Waldron, director of private debt at M&G.

The value of investments will fluctuate, which will cause prices to fall as well as rise and investors may not get back the original amount they invested.
