We have a range funds built with two clear aims in mind – to deliver long-term financial returns for our customers and to contribute towards a better future for society and the planet. We call this our Planet+ range of funds.
When searching for new investment opportunities our experts consider three important factors: Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). They look to avoid businesses with the potential to do harm to society or the environment, in line with our investment strategies.
Our impact funds go one step further and invest in companies, governments or other entities that set out to achieve specific and measurable change to environmental or societal issues over the long term. They may be things like reducing carbon emissions or funding advancements in medical research helping to combat the world’s major health challenges. We have six impact areas that we focus on, three environmental and three social.
One of our funds aims to target all six areas, and in 2020 we launched a new fund which invests in companies across the three environmental areas to deliver solutions to the challenge of climate change.
2020 also saw the launch of a new family of three risk-managed sustainable multi-asset funds in the UK. These are intended to give customers choice about how much risk they are comfortable with, while investing in a way that helps contribute to a more sustainable economy.
We are committed to expanding customer choice and so are growing our Planet+ range further by adding new funds and launching sustainability-focused versions of existing ones. We are making our solutions available more widely too, meaning more people can join us in investing for a more sustainable future.
