What are the opportunities for intergenerational advice?

Session: 10 March 2022

On this webinar in conjunction with the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales (ICAEW) Kirsty Anderson, Prudential Pension Business Development Manager, focused on gifting wealth via a pension, reducing inheritance tax liabilities and helping the next generation. Kirsty also spoke about pension death benefits and what action needs to be taken now to ensure the client’s wishes are followed. Lastly, Kirsty discussed how to manage the lifetime allowance – using the wealth or leaving it as a legacy.

After taking part in that session you should now be able to:

  • Summarise the views of consumers in relation to intergenerational wealth
  • Identify the opportunities of using pensions as a legacy planning tool
  • Explain the potential impact on allowances and personal taxation for both wealth transfer and creation
