Why we track and report our environmental impact

To create a healthier planet, we need to understand if our efforts to tackle climate change are working. One of the ways we do this, is every year we report on our firm's environmental impact to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP): an independent charity that aims to drive disclosure, insight and action towards a sustainable economy. And that’s why we’re always looking to do more.

CDP helps us to:

  • Make sure we’re accountable for our climate change commitments: so we take action where it counts, and show how we’re living up to our commitments.
  • Be transparent with everyone: helping them see what’s happening and how our climate change work fits within our business.
  • Contribute information that global decision makers can use to tackle climate change: CDP uses our data, along with other companies that disclose, to contribute, to inform and engage governments and leaders around the world.
  • Make investment decisions that are informed by the wider context on climate change: by looking at CDP’s data, our investment teams can better understand the risks and opportunities in connection to climate change.

Reporting on our environmental impact is just one of the ways we’re working towards a more positive future for the planet.
