The strategy aims to provide an annual yield above that of the FTSE All-Share Index, an income stream that increases every year, and a higher total return than that of the FTSE All-Share Index over any five-year period.
We believe that investing in higher yield equities could help deliver superior total returns, due to the compounding effect of reinvesting income, and the impact of capital growth generated if there is income growth.
This emphasis on dividend yield helps us to identify shares that we believe are relatively cheap and to avoid those that are expensive. From the universe of high-yielding stocks, we identify companies that are competitive, with a strong business franchise and have the potential to grow their dividends.
