M&G appoints Clive Bolton as new Life Insurance CEO

M&G plc, the leading international saving and investment business, today announces the appointment of Clive Bolton as the Chief Executive Officer of M&G Life Insurance.

In his new role, Clive will be responsible for developing and growing the range of PruFund products available across the UK and Europe, as well as the five million customers of our Heritage business.

He brings extensive experience of the life and pensions market having spent over a decade at Aviva Life UK, including five years as Managing Director of Retirement Solutions. He joins from LV= where he is currently Managing Director of Protection, Savings & Retirement.

Clive will join M&G plc in September and become a member of M&G’s Group Executive Committee, reporting to Group Chief Executive Officer, Andrea Rossi.

Clive started his career at Prudential where he qualified as an actuary before moving to Norwich Union (now Aviva) where he held various roles in general insurance, including Strategy Director and Pricing & Underwriting Director. Returning to the Life sector as Aviva’s Life Strategy Director, he then became Managing Director Savings & Retirement for eight years, growing the annuity, BPA, Investment Platform, Equity Release and Advice businesses. After spending a year in private equity, Clive joined life and pensions mutual insurer LV= in 2019 as Managing Director Protection, Savings & Retirement.

Clive also chairs the Scheme Advisor Board for the Civil Service Pension Scheme and works with the International Longevity Centre, a think tank that specializes in the impact of longevity on society.
