M&G strengthens its presence in the Italian market with two appointments

Milan, 6 September 2022 – M&G Investments announces two appointments in the institutional and advisory teams, strengthening its presence in the Italian market.

Andrea Governato joins the company as Senior Institutional Specialist, reporting to Andrea Orsi. Andrea will be responsible for institutional business development and coordinating the dedicated institutional client team – composed by Costanza Morea, Associate Director, and Francesca Piacentini, Sales Manager. Andrea has 30 years of experience in the Italian institutional sector and has held senior roles, in Italy and Europe, at Amundi, Axa and Reale Mutua Assicurazioni.

Claudio Morelli has been appointed Senior Sales Manager of the team dedicated to advisory clients. Claudio, reporting to Nicola Mutinelli, Sales Director and Head of Advisory Client, brings in-depth knowledge of the Italian asset management sector, having previously worked at Franklin Templeton, Amundi and Pioneer Investments.

Additionally, Michele Armanini, Managing Director, Infracapital, has relocated from London to Italy, and is now based in M&G’s Milan office. Infracapital is the infrastructure equity investment arm of M&G plc and Michele will continue to oversee the origination and management of assets within the pan-European, mid-market greenfield strategy, whilst expanding Infracapital’s presence in Italy. Michele, who reports to Andy Matthews, Head of Greenfield, based in London, will aim to establish new client relationships and broaden the investment opportunities for Infracapital’s strategies.

Andrea Governato, Senior Institutional Specialist, M&G Investments

As of 1 September 2022, Andrea Governato is Senior Institutional Specialist at M&G in Italy. Andrea joins the M&G team after having held the role of Senior Advisor, with a particular focus on the Italian market, at LBO France and International Institutional Capital Advisors Ltd. Previously, Andrea worked for 17 years at Amundi Sgr as Head of Institutional Sales and has past experience at Axa Assicurazioni and Reale Mutua Assicurazioni. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Turin.

Claudio Morelli, Senior Sales Manager, M&G Investments

As of 1 September 2022, Claudio Morelli is Senior Sales Manager of M&G's advisory team in Italy. Prior to joining M&G, Claudio was Senior Sales Manager at Franklin Templeton. Previously, he was Sales Manager for Amundi Asset Management and Pioneer Investments. Claudio holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Milan Bicocca.

Michele Armanini, Managing Director of Infracapital

Michele Amanini joined Infracapital in 2015 to develop its presence in the greenfield infrastructure space. Previously he was a Director at 3i Group plc focusing on equity investment opportunities in the Infrastructure and Energy sector. Michele transferred to 3i Group plc following their acquisition of Barclays Infrastructure Funds Management, where he was an Investment Director. Prior to this, Michele held several different roles at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe. Michele holds a MSc in Physics from the University of Milan.
