Final Salary Pension (Defined Benefit)

Your Final Salary Pension is designed to help you save towards your retirement. It provides benefits that are usually based on your salary and the number of years you've been in the scheme.

We recommend you get financial advice to help you make decisions about your pension savings and your retirement options.

What would you like to do?

If you are an active member of the scheme you can get a copy of your latest benefit statement or a pension valuation by contacting us.

If you are a deferred member of the scheme or a wound up scheme then you will not get an annual benefit statement.

You can update your bank or building society details by contacting us.

You can change your address details by contacting us.

To change your name, we’ll need a signed letter from you with details of your previous name and your new name. We’ll also need one of the following original documents: a Marriage Certificate, Civil Partnership Certificate, Decree Absolute, Final Order or a Deed Poll.

Please send the letter, including your policy number, to Prudential, Lancing, BN15 8GB.

We'll return your document to you straight away.

We recommend that you carefully consider your options, including your tax position, before accessing your pension savings.

If you are an active member of the scheme you should discuss with your employer what options are available for making additional payments or topping up your pension.

If you are a deferred member, no further contributions or additional benefits can be added to your pension.

We'll let you know your options six months before your retirement date.

You'll be able to nominate a beneficiary by completing and sending us the beneficiary nomination form. To get a copy of the relevant form, please contact us.

As this is a defined benefit pension you do not get a choice over how it’s invested.

The amount of pension you receive is usually based on how much you earned whilst a member of the scheme and the number of years you were in the scheme.

No charges apply to your pension.

Annual management charges, monthly policy fee, allocation rate, bid/offer spread, transfer charges, fund charges, any associated policy charges and adviser remuneration are not applicable.

If required your pension benefits will be adjusted for early/late payment on a basis set by the trustees/policy conditions.
