It is important that you read this page (the “Terms of Service”) containing the terms of access to, and use of, the Pension Pot calculator (the “Tool”).

You will be able to access and use the Tool once you have clicked “accept” to these Terms of Service. You should carefully read the Terms of Service for your own protection. If you do not understand the Terms of Service, you should contact us on 0800 000 000. By clicking “accept”, you will be deemed to have agreed to the Terms of Service. If you do not agree to the Terms of Service, you are not permitted to use the Tool.

We reserve the right to revise these Terms of Service at any time, without notice to you. You should read the Terms of Service each time you access the Tool before you click “accept”. By clicking “accept”, you confirm your acceptance of the updated Terms of Service.

Wherever the name Prudential is used on this Tool, this refers to one or more of the trading companies of M&G plc that operate in the UK. For more information about Prudential’s companies, please visit the About Us page on www.pru.co.uk.

Prudential is not affiliated in any manner with Prudential Financial, Inc., a company whose principal place of business is in the United States of America.

This Tool is accessed through www.pru.co.uk which is operated by Prudential Distribution Limited (the "Company", "we", "us" or "our"). We are registered in Scotland under company registration number SC212640 and our registered office is at 5 Central Way, Kildean Business Park, Stirling, FK8 1FT.

The Tool, its output, projections and all of its contents are provided for information purposes only.

Nothing contained in this Tool should be construed as a solicitation, offer or recommendation to buy or sell any investment.

The information on the Tool may suggest actions you take and amounts you need to invest in order to achieve different financial objectives you are aiming for. By providing the information in this Tool, Prudential is not determining the suitability of any investment for any investor. Nor does the information on this Tool constitute investment advice.

You are required to input certain information about your financial circumstances into the Tool. It is your responsibility to ensure that all information inputted is correct.

You should also be aware that projections or outcomes made by the Tool made are estimates and not guarantees of any particular projection or outcome.

We accept no liability for any projections or outcomes made by the Tool or for any loss or damage incurred by you (however such loss or damage occurs) in connection with your use of the Tool (whether or not the information you put into the Tool is complete and accurate).

The information in the Tool is based on our understanding of current legislation, taxation law and practice, which may change.

We are not responsible for the security of content of any non-Prudential websites which may be linked to from the Tool. The existence of a link to another website does not imply or express endorsement of the provider, product or services by Prudential and we accept no responsibility or liability for the information contained on any other website and any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

You are granted a non-exclusive, personal, non-transferable, royalty-free right to use the Tool in connection with these Terms of Service only.

The Tool may not, in whole or in part, be reproduced, copied, stored or transmitted. Unless specifically prohibited by a notice published on the Tool, you may download or print individual sections of the Tool for personal information and use only, provided that you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices contained in it.

You must not alter anything on the Tool. No material from the Tool may be used on any other website and you must not establish any links to the Tool or any related website site without our prior written consent.

The Tool is only intended for the access and use of United Kingdom residents, who are aged 18 or over. We will provide information on the Tool only in English. By accessing and using the Tool, you represent and warrant that you are resident in the United Kingdom and aged 18 or over. If you do not meet these requirements, you should not use the Tool. We make no representation that the Tool is appropriate or available for use in other locations outside the United Kingdom or, by anyone under the age of 18.

Please note that any downloading of software or information from the Tool is done at your own risk. We do not warrant the suitability of anything that is downloaded and accept no liability for any problems that may arise as a result. If you're in any doubt about downloading anything, we recommend that you take specialist advice before downloading.

We do not guarantee that the Tool will be available at all times or that it will be free from errors, defects, bugs, viruses or other malicious programs or materials.

Further, the Tool may be amended, discontinued or withdrawn at any time without notice. Neither Prudential or any member of the M&G plc group shall be liable in any way if the Tool is unavailable, amended or withdrawn.

We reserve the right to deny you access, or to remove your access, to the Tool where we reasonably believe there is fraudulent activity, a security breach or, a breach of these Terms of Service, whether or not caused by you.

We make the Tool available for you to use subject to these Terms of Service. Your use of the Tool subject to you not including and/or uploading any comment or material in an email or webchat that is, or could be construed as being:

  • obscene
  • threatening or menacing
  • harassing
  • false, misleading or inaccurate
  • libellous or defamatory of any person
  • deceptive or fraudulent
  • invasive of another's privacy
  • offensive
  • illegal.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove your access to the Tool and remove any comment or material that, acting reasonably, we consider, or we reasonably believe another person may consider, contains such comment or material.

(a) Neither Prudential or any member of the M&G plc will be liable in any way for the consequences of any unauthorised access to the Tool or any unauthorised alteration to the Tool made without its consent.

(b) The Terms of Service, and use of the Tool shall be governed by the laws of England and the Courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in any legal proceedings.

(c) We may make changes to the information and content on the Tool without updating these Terms of Service to reflect those changes. While we use all reasonable efforts to ensure that the Tool is accurate and complete, we make no guarantees that it is reliable, accurate or complete. Neither Prudential or any member of the M&G plc will be liable for errors, omissions or for information on the Tool becoming out of date or incorrect. (d) If you breach any of the terms in these Terms of Service, we will have the right to claim damages, and such claim will include the right to claim for special, incidental, consequential or indirect damages, loss of profits and loss of business and we will be entitled to recover legal costs.

(e) We and other members of the M&G plc group hereby expressly exclude:

  • all conditions, warranties, representations and other terms which might apply to the Tool or any content on it, whether express or implied; and
  • any liability for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage incurred by you in connection with:

1. the Tool or in connection with the use, inability to use, reliance on the information displayed on the Tool, results of the use of the Tool, any websites linked to it, any materials posted on the Tool, including loss of: income, revenue, business, profits, contracts, anticipated savings, data, goodwill or wasted management or office time and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, even if foreseeable;

2. any problems with or damage to your computer as a result of your use of the Tool or downloading software via the Tool; or

3. any loss or damage caused by a virus, distributed denial-of-service attack, or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of the Tool or to your downloading of any content on it, or on any website linked to it.

This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence or our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

You must not misuse the Tool by knowingly introducing viruses, Trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is technologically harmful or malicious.

You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Tool, the server on which the Tool is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the Tool. You must not attack the Tool via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack. In the event of such a breach, your right to use the Tool will cease immediately. 

You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform in order to access the Tool. You should use your own virus protection software.

We aim to provide excellent products and service at all times. If you feel you have cause to complain about the Tool, please contact us by letter, telephone or email. One of our customer service agents will deal with your complaint and will try to provide a quick and satisfactory conclusion for you.

So that we can try to resolve your complaint, please provide us with the following information when you contact us:

  • Your full name and address (including your policy number(s) if relevant)
  • Full details of your complaint
  • Any information you consider to be relevant to your complaint

In the event that certain types of complaint you make against us remain unresolved after they have been through our internal complaints procedure, you may refer the complaint to the FOS. If any part of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid, unenforceable or unlawful by any court of competent jurisdiction, such part shall to the extent possible be severed from the remaining terms all of which shall remain in full force and effect as permitted by law.

Failure by us to exercise any right or remedy under these Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of that right or remedy, and shall not prevent us from exercising that right or remedy at any time in the future.
