Frequently asked questions

The MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard is a secure, online resource offered by the government-backed MoneyHelper service.

You can use it to find and view any private, workplace or state pensions you might have, all in one place.

The Dashboard is expected to go live to the public, sometime in 2026.

Once you’ve logged on securely through the MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard, you’ll be able to view:

  • any known, lost or forgotten pensions you might have
  • some basic pension information; and
  • depending on your product, your Estimated Retirement Income.

You'll also be able to connect from the Dashboard to your pension provider(s) for more detailed information.

The Dashboard won’t show:

  • any pensions already in payment to you
  • any pension scheme with less than 100 members, even if you’re a part of it
  • a workplace pension scheme that hasn’t yet connected to the Dashboard.

The Dashboard won’t display any fund values or your Estimated Retirement Income (ERI):

  • if you’re within two years of retirement
  • if you’ve already reached the Normal Pension age
  • if you’re within three months of joining a new scheme and making your first contribution
  • if you joined a scheme within the last 12 months and haven't yet received your first Annual Benefit Statement (ABS).

There are a number of reasons why your pension may not be showing on the Dashboard. For example:

  • if your pension is already in payment to you
  • if you're a part of a pension scheme with less than 100 members
  • if you’re within three months of joining a new scheme and making your first contribution
  • if you’re part of a workplace pension scheme that hasn’t yet connected to the Dashboard.

If you think you have a pension with us that isn’t showing, please contact us.

An Estimated Retirement Income (ERI) is a projection of the retirement income you could get when you retire. It’s based on the assumptions of continued fund growth and ongoing future contributions (if applicable) to your current fund.

You’ll usually see this value in your Annual Benefit Statement (ABS), though it won't be called an ERI. It may be called your 'projected fund value' instead.

The Annual Accrued Value (AV) is a calculation of the annual income your current fund could provide you with today, if your retirement date was the same as the illustration date. This isn't a value we currently provide in the Annual Benefit Statement (ABS).

The values for your Estimated Retirement Income (ERI) and Annual Accrued Value (AV) will be updated annually on the MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard.

Each pension you have will be displayed as a separate item on the Dashboard. The provider’s details for that pension will also be displayed. If you’re seeing more than one Prudential plan on the Dashboard:

  • it may be because you’re invested in more than one, or
  • for AVCs, it may be because you have different periods of employment or different contribution types e.g. Salary Sacrifice.

It can take up to 3 months for a new pension to be added to the Dashboard and up to a year before any values are displayed.

There are a number of reasons why your Estimated Retirement Income (ERI) value may not be showing on the Dashboard. For example:

  • if your pension is already in payment to you
  • if you're a part of a pension scheme with less than 100 members, even if you’re a part of it
  • if you’re part of a workplace pension scheme that hasn’t yet connected to the Dashboard
  • if you’re within two years of retirement.

For customers who are expecting to see an ERI but don’t:

  • when you log on to the Dashboard, it’ll automatically trigger a request for us to provide the information needed to generate your ERI. Depending on the type of pension you have, your ERI will appear on the Dashboard within 3 to 10 working days; or alternatively
  • the Dashboard may have displayed a message for you to contact us for a value.

If you didn’t request to set up a pension yourself, it’s likely that a previous employer may have enrolled you into their scheme. The name of the scheme will be on the Dashboard.  The government also has a pension tracing service you can use.

The MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard provides information on pensions associated with you.

If any of the pension information provided by the Dashboard is unfamiliar,  it may be that the original provider or pension plan as you previously knew it, has been taken over.

For any matched pensions on the Dashboard, your plan number will be showing against the plan reference number.

You’ll be able to find your plan number on your Annual Benefit Statement (ABS), or on any letters you receive from us.  It may also be referred to as your reference number and will be between 4 and 17 digits long, made up of numbers, letters or a combination of both.

If you can't find your details just visit our lost plan page to read about your options.

Whether you've lost track of a pension plan, or you think that you may have an old plan that’s unclaimed, we can help you trace it. Just visit our lost plan page to read about your options.

We’re required by law to make your pensions data available to the MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard, as part of the Pensions Dashboard Regulations 2022. Your pension information will only be displayed on the Pensions Dashboard once your identity has been authenticated on gov.uk and search request has been submitted.

It can take up to four weeks for your personal information to be updated on the MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard.

For any changes to your address, we’re required to complete a verification process, before we can confirm an update on our records. Once this is confirmed, the updated data may take up to 4 weeks to display on the Dashboard. We apologise for any inconvenience this delay may cause.

If the change you've made is more significant, like a change to your retirement date, then the value information you see on the Dashboard might be dated up to 13 months prior to today’s date.
